ok heres what happened, i sent my wife and sister a MMS and they got it, but about 20 minutes later i get a text from a strange number asking me who this is, why did you send this to me,etc.... i said i never sent nothing to this/that number??? weird!! so this morning i get another text from a different number asking me the same thing??? so i look in my messages and i see my wifes and her sister together, then i see my wifes and sister and both those number all together, like i sent 4 people that at the same time??? where did those number come from?? there not in my contacts and i dont know these people, so how did they get there???? anybody???

There is no magic in tech, that's just exact siences. Saying so, i mean u should know where those numbers came from, or someone or something you were doing on your phone and saved by mistakes those numbers into your phone. The question still remain though, where did u get those numbers from???

the phone stays in my possion at all times, when i sent them it was just me and my wife there, i dont have those number in my phone at all, and never sent them to those number they did just come out of nowhere, thats why iam asking hows that possible??

Well. mathematicaly, that's just not possible, but probabilities are that the network had some issues when you were sending out tge messages.

I hope it was a weird glitch and don't happen again

I've had it happen too and it happened when I used my BlackBerry as well so I suspect it's a network thing.

Mathematically it's not possible? I dunno...my father recently had a handful of sexy, lovey dovey messages from people he doesn't know, never knew and the phone numbers aren't in his contacts. He received from 3 different people from 3 different states. He was in hot water with my step-mom so he asked me how this could happen. Simple...I responded for him and asked then some questions....

ALL SENDERS HAD IPHONE 4's and my father's phone is not an iPhone nor Droid....plus he's on Verizon.

Do the math on that one!

It happens when more then one person receives the same message from a number. The reason being is on iPhones if u go to settings> messages> and then turn off group messaging. So therefore when people reply to mass texts or group alerts it automatically sends their response to everyone who was included. Most people don't disable this feature so that is usually why that occurs. Hope that helps, I may have totally misunderstood your question but thats what happened to me

I've had issues with Verizon SMS/MMS before. Nothing like this but times where it would take forever to get sent or not send at all. I think Verizon's networks are a bit overloaded with all the SMS/MMS pouring through them. Unlike T-Mobile (had for 5+ years), I didn't have any problems with them. Maybe GSM based SMS/MMS is better than CDMA SMS/MMS. On that note, I notice that the iPhone 4S can send MMS through WiFi - unlike my last 2 Android phones which had to turn off WiFi and use 3G/4G for every MMS. Kinda cool.

I've found that if I try to send a text, MMS, or email while another message and/or file is in the process of sending that things often grind to a standstill and then I have to try to resend sometimes multiple times before one of those messages/files will go through. I think it's a bug with the iPhone but have no way of knowing and it's the only issue I have with the phone so it's no big deal now that I've figure it out.
