Here's a quick interesting story to tease you before the big announcement in a bit. This one is from our guest writer, Radu. The Genius Bar has been one of the most well known features of Apple Retail Stores across the globe since the very beginning. Nevertheless Cupertino isnt the type of company to just keep a concept going on forever without adding something to it or changing it. Recently, new rumors have been reported about an Apple store in New Jersey that apparently is going to get a new experimental feature a double-row Genius bar.
Apple has been known for its endeavors in trying to perfect the way the Genius Bar works and handles work flow, trying out different strategies and techniques. For instance, the company experimented with a floating Genius Bar in the Los Gatos location, but decided the better option was a longer bar option that got implemented in Bellevue Square.
Tipsters say the store will move two spaces away to the former Charlotte Russe store, nearly tripling the stores square-footage. Inside, there will be two Genius Bars parallel to the rear wall, one behind the other, allowing 360-degree access, said the report.
The double bar will be backed up by a rear wall that will provide employees with storage drawers meant for depositing different equipment.
Apple also started a TV campaign that puts the Genius Bar in the spotlight as it features one Genius technician, but the endeavor didnt get too much attention from the public and has been quietly pushed into the background. Cupertino has also recently added online Genius bar-like support on its official Apple Store site.
