Pocket Gamer reports today that CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher Battle Arena has had a soft launch in Sweden today, which means that we should expect it to be arriving in App Stores worldwide fairly soon.
The free-to-play online battling game series features characters from The Witcher console game series who battle each other in 10-minute-long bouts. There are a total of eight different heroes to play as initially, but doubtless more will be added in future updates.
You can team up with friends online for cooperative play, and don’t worry if you don’t have an online connection as you can also battle against the game’s AI.
Pocket Gamer has had hands-on time playing the game and says that all unlockables can be unlocked by playing, meaning that you don’t have to worry about forking out for lots of in-app purchases.
With the news today that the long-awaited and much-delayed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt console game has just been delayed again until May 2015, fans will have to console themselves with this small screen foray into the Witcher universe for now.
