Thieves have once again dressed up as Apple Store employees at an Apple Store in New York and managed to steal $16,000 worth of iPhones in one fell swoop. 9to5 Mac reports that back in March, thieves targeted Apple’s Upper West Side store and managed to steal 67 iPhones worth nearly $50,000, but clearly lessons weren’t learned after that incident, as now 16 iPhones have been stolen from the SoHo store.

According to Gizmodo, the thieves are clearly very familiar with the goings on in the Apple store, dressing in an almost identical style to Apple employees and being able to walk right up to the drawers where the phones are stored.

There’s also a suggestion that new official shirts introduced last year for store employees have helped the thieves by making fake members of staff harder to spot, with many different types of official shirts now on offer.

Even so, it seems incredible that pretty much anyone has access to the store's iPhone stock!
