Swiss company Dacuda and Swedish company Volumental have developed an app that allows the user to make a 3D model of their face. The user will simply need to take a picture of the front of their face and both sides.
After the 3D model of the user's face is created, the app will allow the user to choose from several places where the model can be printed. "We expect people won't have a 3D printer quickly but we think the technology will become more affordable," said Alexander Ilic, founder of Dacuda.
The app will run on iOS and some devices running Android. The two companies expect that the 3D selfie printing app will ready to launch sometime in Q3 2015.
