Kuo believes that Apple is planning to call its 2015 flagship smartphone the "iPhone 7" instead of the "iPhone 6S". The analyst says this is because Apple is planning to add significant technology changes to the device, including force touch.
However, Kuo thinks that the force touch in the iPhone will be different from the one found in the Apple Watch. "We believe that iPhone’s Force Touch sensor doesn’t directly detect the pressure applied by fingers," says Kuo. "Instead, it monitors the contact area on which the finger touches the screen to decide how big the pressure is."
Previous reports from The Wall Street Journal and AppleInsider also agree the force touch technology will be added. However, the moniker given to the next generation iPhone is to be determined.
