Traveling overseas , how does itunes work if i want to buy apps?

And also with updating my iPhone will that be a problem?

You're already over seas. I know you'll have to have a way to pay for it via that country. And be you'll have to create a second iTunes account as well

there is no problem so far as you have your apps store account user name and password. You can purchase new apps paid or free (Paid if your card is already link to your account), you can update your apps, just tap in your password when asked.
