Just got iPhone 4s. When I text my email comes up instead of my name or number. How do I fix it???

Is it the receiver that only sees your e-mail address? Is it when you use iMessage, or is it in a regular text message?

If you haven't entered (or are not showing) your phone number in the settings menu, the iMessage might use your apple ID e-mail address instead, like when you use Facetime.
