Twitter is always interested in bringing new features to its social platform, and now the company has started rolling out a really useful one. If you are using Twitter, then you know how easy it is to get flooded with tweets that are spammy or abusive. But it seems that the company is working on a measure to help users get rid of this.
According to a recent report from TechCrunch, the social network is rolling out a new feature called the “quality filter,” which will automatically screen out Twitter mentions that come from suspicious accounts. The feature is currently being rolled out only to verified users, and they are able to filter out tweets that are abusive, threatening or contain duplicate content. Chaterine Shou from the publication is saying the following:
"Twitter told TechCrunch that the feature is currently rolling out to verified users on iOS, and the process appears to be ongoing (I have a verified account but still haven’t spotted the quality filter in my settings yet). We’ve asked for more information on when it will be available to other users as well."
She also pinpoints that the quality filter isn’t a radical new tool, as it's basically an extension of another feature for verified users called tailored filtering. This does sound like a really useful feature and let's hope that it will soon roll out to regular users, as well.
