Twitter's Vine made a moderate splash on the App Store, bringing in a new social network with a brand new experience many have never seen before. The network allows users to post short, 6-second long video clips, making things very interesting in such a short amount of time. Since Facebook decided to add a similar feature, Instagram Video, to its popular photo sharing application, it seems as though Vine had dropped off the vine.
Apparently not, as Twitter just announced via Vine's Twitter account, that the short video service has exceeded a 40 million user milestone. Back in June, Vine announced a 13 million user milestone and then released the Android version in the Google Play Store. While Android phones account for two-thirds of smartphones out there, this milestone comes as no surprise. It's good to know even with competition as big as Facebook and Instagram, Vine can still progress and co-exist in the App world.
