Two notifications whenever I get a text message

It seems that whenever someone sends me one text message, I get two notifications for it. I'll get the first one, and then about a minute later, it will notify me again.

When I go into messages to check it, there is only one text though, not two.

Is this supposed to happen? Is there a setting I can change so I only get one notification?

In most cases, if you don't acknowledge the first notification you will get a second "reminder" notification.

Well that's annoying. There should really be a setting to change that.

I assumed "Never" meant to never notify you. But in this cases, it means to "Never" re-notify you.

I like the second "reminder" notification. Sometimes I'm busy and don't reply. Then the second one reminds me. I don't find it annoying. If you reply the first time, you won't get the second.
