We've seen a lot of developers make good use of Apple's Touch ID feature, so it's no surprise that we're beginning to see it implemented into mobile banking applications.

On Wednesday, UK banks - Royal Bank of Scotland and Nat West announced the addition of Touch ID to their respective iOS apps. The updates for the two applications are said to hit today for RBS and tomorrow for Nat West.
RBS and NatWest customers must activate the feature with their security information, but would only need to use Apple’s Touch ID thereafter.
After the updates are installed, customers will be able to enable or disable Touch ID use within the apps. The user has three chances scanning a fingerprint. For security reasons, after three failed attempts, the user will need to enter credentials manually. In addition to security, some operations will require manual login within the apps.

Approximately 880,000 customers use the RBS and Nat West apps on iOS devices. Check the App Store to see if the updates have already hit.
