On Wednesday, UK banks - Royal Bank of Scotland and Nat West announced the addition of Touch ID to their respective iOS apps. The updates for the two applications are said to hit today for RBS and tomorrow for Nat West.
After the updates are installed, customers will be able to enable or disable Touch ID use within the apps. The user has three chances scanning a fingerprint. For security reasons, after three failed attempts, the user will need to enter credentials manually. In addition to security, some operations will require manual login within the apps.RBS and NatWest customers must activate the feature with their security information, but would only need to use Apple’s Touch ID thereafter.
Approximately 880,000 customers use the RBS and Nat West apps on iOS devices. Check the App Store to see if the updates have already hit.
