UK / USA Apple Accounts on Iphone 5

Using my iphone 5 it has suddenly decided to start showing apps in dolars and when trying to download an app will say I am trying to download from an usa account and need to switch to a uk account . I never switched to a usa and have no idea how to switch it back therefore. Please can anyone advise...
