Many folks out there love emoji, but not many know that Unicode Consortium is the company responsible for allowing us to have such colorful conversations.

On Wednesday, Unicode Consortium released its next major update Unicode 8. Unicode 8 adds almost 8,000 new characters for new languages and scripts. But the majority of us should be more excited that the new update also include 37 new emoji, along with 5 new skin colors.

The above image shows examples of what some of its new emojis could look like, however it's up to Apple to decided what type of graphics it would like to use for there aforementioned Unicodes.

The latest update to iOS brought us skin modifiers, however the emoji above have yet to be included.
