Here is my situation. I jailbroke my phone and am now trying to unlock it. I have an At&t iphone 3gs with modem firmware 05.16.05. I am looking for a way to unlock it. Also looking for a way to use the phone with out a data plan. I am around wifi enough to ue the features. I have googled and youtube the topic to death i just can't find a sure way to unlock or a sure way to not have a data plan. I am willing to pay for the unlock feature if i need to. Thankks in advance for your time.

I assume you're planning on using an AT&T sim with this iPhone? You don't need to unlock it if you are going to use a AT&T sim. If you are planning in using an AT&T sim, you need to put the sim in a dumb phone and call AT&T. Tell them to put a data block on that line. After the data block is in place put the sim in your iPhone.
