Unlocking question

I asked att to unlock my iphone 3gs and came home tonight and went to itunes, Backed up the phone. Did a restore. A box popped up and it said it was unlocked. Then I restore the phone from the back up. When I go to general then to about it still list att as the cell service. Is it unlocked? Or do I have to restore again and not install the backed up files. Thanks for the help.

Insert a sim from a diff carrier. It should then be unlocked. Same happened to me
