unlocking without registering?

hi guys.
i am in the uk. I have upgraded my mums vodafone to a ihone 4 as she is happy wiht her phone.
i am on t mobile and want to have it working on this.

Am i able to unlock it without registering the microsim on her vodafone contract and getting her involved in it all?

any help appreciated as it arriving tomorrow and i dont want to do it wrong and/or leave her without a phone as it will cancel her normal sized sim if i register the micro sim.

Welcome! if its vodafone then you can simply put a pay as you go voda sim and it will let you activate it, and if your mother is using a micro sim you can register it also, but imo using a pay as you go sim would be easier unless she already has a micro sim then stick it in and you will be fine, so just get the sim and you need to activate it with itunes, but im guessing the paygo option would be easier for you
