Upgrade Iphone 4 FW 4.0.2 to 4.1 PRESERVING baseband?

Hello everyone,

I couldnt find any thread concerning this question so here we go:

Is it possible to upgrade my iphone 4, which is currently on 4.0.2, and keep my baseband 01.59.00? If yes, how can i do it

Also, if yes, shouldnt I be able to unlock my iphone since I have a jailbroken phone on 4.1 and an unlockable baseband?

Ok, first off 4.0.2 isn't unlock or jailbreak compatible. Second the jailbreak coming Sunday is for 4.1 with the new baseband. Third there is no way that I have come across to upgrade without the baseband.... You'll just havetoo wait for the unlock...

Yeah i know that 4.0.2 is not jailbreak compatible, but the coming 4.1 is!

Second there is no unlock coming on sunday, only a jailbreak

And this is what I found about preserving the baseband, so I just need to know if this is legit (because i dont want to risk anything )

Sorry I corrected my post... I would be really wary of upgrading and expecting to save your baseband until we have had some people try it first..... I'd hate to lose your unlock for who knows how long....

It seems that we can update to 4.1 while keeping a 1.59.00 Baseband! (base on the reviews & comments)

Will the actual ultrasn0w work on 4.1 with a 1.59.00 Baseband?

I dont think so, cause the Dev team would of already told us that the unlock was on his way!!!!
