MacRumors reports that UPS has just updated its iPhone app, adding two features, the first of which, Scan to Track, uses your iPhones camera and barcode reader to capture the tracking details from a shipping label or UPS InfoNotice, which saves you the bother of having to go to the UPS website and enter your details. With the second new feature, Tracking Number Automatic Population, the app automatically searches for tracking numbers that are saved on your iPhone and downloads them into the UPS app for immediate tracking. That sounds like a very handy and time-saving feature indeed, meaning that all someone needs to do is send you a tracking number either via text or email, and the app will pick it up without you having to enter it. Thats going to save people who use UPS a lot a whole lot of time I would imagine, and all those minutes soon add up! Nice one, UPS!
