using MAPS on my iphone 4s need some help (new user)

Hello guys, new with iphone 4s here.... i clicked on the Maps button to see how the GPS works... i entered an address and i got directions (very fast). BUT, my questions is how do i go back to the home screen of the MAPS application. When i press the button on the bottom of my phone it just takes me back to the main screen. I want to be able to go back to the main screen of the Maps application. (I dont see a back button anywhere).

When you go from Map view to Directions View, you will see a two buttons on the bottom of the screen; Search and Directions. If you click on the Search button, then on the Arrowhead button next to it on the left, that will take you back to the Map main screen, highlighting your, or your phone's, current location. Does that do it for you?
