Using phone without passcode?

I stopped using a passcode for my iPhone5 but suddenly started dialing people just by having it in my pants pocket.

Is there a way I can make and receive calls without having to enter my passcode? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the way you are using it and with the risk of butt-dialing. If what you are asking is if there is a way to not use a passcode and still prevent those mishaps, then I don't know of one.
