Verizon using sim cards

Someone told me Verizon uses a sim card if the device is out of contract. This isnt true is it?

All iPhone 4S's have SIM cards, all iPhone 5's have SIM cards. The only iPhone 4's that have a SIM card are the GSM and World version (iPhone3,1 and iPhone3,2)

Oops. Thanks, I forgot that I was in the 4 forum, the OP must have specifically meant a 4 phone.
