VLC What's up?????

I've read many things about VLC. So I know it has been in and out of the APP store.

VLC for iOS is on my iPhone 6. Works well and plays flv files from my NAS just fine. I would like it on my iPad but it's not in the store. Is there a work around. I am currently using Handbrake and converting.

A history lesson and status would be very helpful.

My other "want" is an APP that will play VIDEO_TS folders.

If you already use VLC on your iPhone, you should find it in App Store - Purchased there. In case you can't see it, make sure you're looking at iPhone Apps. To get there, tap "iPad Apps" at the top right, and select "iPhone Apps" on the following popup.

Thank you so much. I just never thought about looking in my purchased list. Installed and working.
However I believe it has been removed from the store And I could only get it because I had purchased it some time ago.

Any one have any suggestions about the VIDEO_TS folders. VlC plays them on the PC.
