Volume limit on my iphone 3gs

i was wondering if anyone else had experienced this before
i have two iphones the 2g the first iphone and the 3gs iphone with a wider and faster functions yet when it comes to the ipod part of the iphone the sound is relatively quieter.
is this consistent with your phone as well? is there anyway to increase the volume on the 3gs?

Did u check in settings in ipod part, do you have volume limit there activated?
I had problem with 3gs that i couldnt hear during the call. Everything else was fine. With 4s, a person like me who is hearing less than average is thankful,as i finally hear loud and clear.

it;s just so odd that such a newer iphone has such a low sound quality.
