water damage

i just had a question? my iphone 4 suffered a little water damage on the iphone head jack... you cant see the water mark when looking in, but you can see it when the backing of the phone is taking off.

now my head jack still works. i can hear music throw head phones. but i want to know what can happen to the phone in the long run and would it be safe to replace the whole head jack peice just to be safe.

Put it in a sealed container of rice for a few days Then charge it plus restore home key and on off key that should fix it

It will dry the phone out but not fix any physical damage
