Didn't see another post like this, however if there is one already in place please let me know. I walked in the pool with my iPhone 4 in my pocket (I know) and it got all jacked up. I did the restore kit where you take the phone apart and use a alcohol solution and let it dry. I was able to get it working and get my data off of the phone (thank goodness). However, since then the phone will power up to the connect to iTunes screen if plugged into the wall and when unplugged it will immediately die. If plugged up to my Mac it will show the apple for about 20 seconds and the power off for about 5 seconds and repeat this over and over. I thought buying a new battery might help, but replacing it yielded the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much.

The best thing to do would have been to put it in a bag of rice right after it got wet, but this long after it was wet, I would say it's toast now. Something on the mainboard probably got fried.

This long after, a new phone is needed. If it does happen again however, either put it in a bag of rice or put it in the freezer for 5 minutes. That will suck out the moisture.

Thanks for the advice. I actually did the bag of rice thing right away and then used the iRevive spray kit for the corosion. I did get another iPhone 4, but I would love to bring this one back to life. Thanks anyway though.

Hmmm, I've never heard of the freezer trick but I would say that is probably pretty dangerous, since water expands when it freezes I could see that causing more harm than good. Plus eventually the ice is going to melt and you'll be right back where you started :P

Sorry to hear the bag of rice trick didn't work for you bradymoto :(

But I had the same problem and I went to the apple store
And explained the problem,( although I did not walk into the pool with it)
Because my water corrosion was secluded, but nevertheless less my 30pin connector outlet was destroyed I got a free replacement iPhone
The kind genius bar employee told me about this case which I now currently have called LIFEPROOF
but I got the pretty expensive case, and now my iPhone is water and shock proof, while being slimmer than my otterbox case ,which I previously had for my iPhone 4

Unfortunately if the water sensor sticker turns pink/red they will not replace the phone and it will actually void the warranty. I don't see how a phone could be fully submerged and not have the water sensor sticker change colors.

Awesome to hear that you were able to convince them to replace it for you though, I guess it's worth a shot!
