What does this setting do under "notifications"?

At the top of the Notification Settings is a setting for "Sort Apps". It gives the option of "Manually" or "By Time".
What is that for and what is the difference in the two options?

It is the order of how they will show up in the notification widget.

Manually - you set the order from top to bottom of how the notifications will show on the pull-down widget.
By Time - automatically sorts the notifications of the pull-down widget based on when the notification occurred.

For me, I went with Manually so I can have the more important notifications (to me) up at the top of the list.

I wonder if something is amiss with my notification center. I don't have any notification "widget" that I can see. Under "notifications", it says "swipe down from the top to view notification center". Nothing shows when I swipe down. I do have the list of apps that are IN the notification center, but I've never seen a "Center".

Also, my flash notification doesn't work even though I have it set on. I do get notifications, although they seem random at times.

We were talking about the same thing. I was calling the notification center (that you swipe down from the top) a widget. my bad. Just look at each app in the Notification settings and make sure they are set to show up, not just on.
