On Tuesday, the WhatsApp official Facebook page announce that it has hit a milestone of over 700 million users worldwide. The app is currently more popular in Asia, due to the free messaging compared to the pay-per- text message on local carriers.
WhatsApp users are currently sending over 30 billion messages using the service. The app is free for the first year to send messages, videos, photos, and audio messages, but after the year is up, WhatsApp subscriptions only cost $0.99 per year.
WhatsApp can be found for free in the App Store.
