Where'd my text messages go?

For whatever reason, ALL of my text messages have been deleted! Is there anyone that can explain to me the reasoning as to why my texts just "magically" disappeared? Or even better, could anyone explain to me how or if I can retrieve them? Thanks in advance!

You could've accidentally deleted. My suggestion restore from backup

Perform a couple of hard reset first to see if your sms will be back after that. If no good result, then do like iCrank suggested to you.

Thank you both very much! This may sound like a silly question, but how do I perform the backup?

Connect your iPhone to your computer, open up iTunes, when your iPhone shows up in the left pane of iTunes make a right click on your iPhone name, it will display a dialogue box, select "back up" from the dialogue box, let iTunes do the rest.

Restore from backup before you backup. You have to see if you're text are there
