Will jailbreaking screw me in the long run

If I jailbreak my iphone4. Then something goes wrong latter and I have to take or send it back to apple to get a new phone will they be able to know I jail-broke my phone.
Or can I in jailbreak it to where they wouldn't know

All you have to do is restore the phone and they will have no way of telling that it was ever jailbroken.
