World of Goo for iPhone Submitted to App Store

World of Goo developer 2dboy posted on their blog today that they have just submitted the iPhone version of World of Goo to the App Store for approval, which means that, fingers crossed, it should be arriving in the store to download very soon. According to 2dboy, they’ve come up with a unique way of rewarding the game’s early adopters, by pricing it at a discounted $0.99/£0.59 for the first 24 hours after release, and then at $2.99 (and international equivalents) after that. They have also decided to make the very popular iPad HD version of the game (see footage above) universal, so that if you’ve already got the iPad version, you can also use it on your iPhone for no extra charge. That’s the good news, now for the not so good news if you happen to be the owner of an older iPhone or iPod touch. 2dboy says that because the game requires an armv7 or better processor to run, it will only work on the iPhone 4 or 3GS, or 3rd generation iPod touch onwards.
