BGR broke the news last week about a carrier presentation in China that had given the game away that Apple would be holding its iPhone 8 launch event in the week of September 10, and now The Wall Street Journal has all but confirmed that scoop by reporting that Apple has scheduled an event for September 12, and that the company is “aiming to use” the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, which is currently nearing completion.
Apparently, the carriers were told of the September 12 launch date last week in order to give them time to prepare the necessary pre-orders marketing material.
According to The Wall Street Journal, aside from the flagship OLED iPhone 8, Apple will also be announcing two new LCD iPhone models, the LTE Series 3 Apple Watch, and a 4K Apple TV box. Apple has yet to issue invitations for the event, but you can bet that will be happening very soon.
