9to5 Mac reports today that Apple has launched its official app for the 2013 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), which starts on June 10. Apple is thought to be readying new versions of iOS and OSX, which are expected to be announced during the conferences keynote. The app is primarily for those lucky enough to be going to the WWDC, and is designed to basically make their life easier while at the conference, enabling attendees to organize sessions, labs and special events, help them get around the convention centre at Moscone West, and keep their registration information in Passbook. The app will also provide all the latest news from WWDC, as well as session videos, which Apple says will be released much quicker this year, and will also be available online. One interesting aspect about the app that has caused it be a worldwide trending hastag on Twitter this afternoon is the fact that the app icon is flat, and therefore a departure from previous app icons. The change is prompting some tweeters to wonder if this new design is an example of what we can expect from Sir Jony Ives re-design of iOS 7.[/FONT]
