The Verge reports that Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has today launched Yahoos new mail client, which includes a bespoke iOS version. I kind of like the fact that the actual CEO pens the announcement herself, talk about hands-on! Anyway, according to The Verge, the new iOS app actually arrived in the App Store last week, but it has been newly updated today. They say that it has a lot of similar features to that of the new Gmail app, such as a list of folders in a pane on the left of the screen. Yahoo has also said that it has increased the underlying performance for loading mail into your inbox, and writing and sending emails has been improved greatly, with Yahoo even calculating that the improvements will save its users 36 million minutes each day all together! The app also has push notifications, a constantly updating message list, so that you dont have to reload when you get to the end of a list, and they have also now made it easy for you to add photos from your camera roll or take new photos using the app and send them as attachments (kind of like posting them on Instagram). The app is apparently for iOS 6 only, however, and currently there is no iPad version, so youll have to make do with the iPhone/iPod touch version.
