Google has recently updated its YouTube app for Android to improve the playback of vertical videos. Now this feature has been released for iPhone and iPad users, as well, through the most recent 10.28 version. Here's how the official changelog sounds like:
"Thanks for using YouTube. We're always making improvements and fixes to our app, bringing you updates to the App Store every few weeks. In this version, we've added support for fullscreen playback of vertical videos."
Thus, the new YouTube app for iOS now has a vastly different design which has been inspired by the current Material Design trend from Google. Go ahead and follow the link from below to get the most recent version and let us know what you think about it.
