With the release of HBO's new service HBO NOW, it seems subscription services are all the rage. A little late to the game, YouTube has just sent out an email to its partners regarding a subscription service the company wishes to launch.
The email doesn't go into too much detail regarding the service, it talks more about why Google is planning to add it. "By creating a new paid offering, we’ll generate a new source of revenue that will supplement your fast growing advertising service," reads the email.
YouTube's paid subscription service will offer an ad-free experience for the website's videos. Doing so, the media-streaming giant will join the likes of Netflix and Hulu for monthly-paid video content.
