3GS iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak

Hi guys I have an iPhone 3GS which is on ios 5, jailbroken, unlocked and with iPad baseband. The current jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak and would like to upgrade to ios 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak. What is the best way to do do this with out risking damaging the iPhone as you can't just upgrade it on iTunes?

Use Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 for unteethered jailbreak. And as you rely on Ultrasn0w for unlock you should use custom firmware to preserve your baseband or else you will not be able to unlock your phone.

Hi there thanks for your response, I understand I need to redsn0w. How can I 'cook' a custom firmware to update my iPhone and then jailbreak it? I am a windows user.
