Tech N Marketing has a very revealing interview with Angry Birds creator, Rovios Peter Vesterbacka, in which the developer talks about the ridiculously massive worldwide success of Angry Birds, which has racked up over 50 million downloads, with 80% of users keeping the app installed, and thats not even counting the staggering figures reported over the holiday weekend, where the record of over a million downloads per day was broken.
When asked which OS he thinks will come out on top, Vesterbacka backed Apples iOS all the way.
Apple will be the number one platform for a long time from a developer perspective, they have gotten so many things right. And they know what they are doing and they call the shots, Vesterbacka told Tech NMarketing.
In contrast, Vesterbacka says that the Android ecosystem is becoming too fragmented:
So many different shops, so many different models. The carriers messing with the experience again. Open but not really open, a very Google-centric ecosystem. And paid content just doesnt work on Android.
It really is a fascinating insight into how a successful developer views the different operating systems, be sure to check it out!
