According to a report on BGR today, Apple is working on innovative tech that will enable your iPhone or iPad to track your eye movement when gaming, using gaze control to play games and use apps.
The news comes via Patently Apple, the website devoted to reporting on every aspect of Apples patent applications, which often offer valuable clues about Apples future plans. Many of those ideas that Apple applies for patents for never get off the ground of course, but many of them do, so the website provides a fascinating insight into Apples development process.
As far as this particular patent application is concerned, Patently Apple says that the patent application goes into great detail about how Apple plans to tackle what is apparently the main obstacle to the development of eye-tracking systems, namely, Troxler fading, which is the brains way of coping with blind spots on the retina. Its all very technical-sounding, but basically, Apple thinks it has managed to solve the problem, so could this be the way well play our games and interact with our apps in future?!
