The all new iPhone 5's quad processor is what makes this device seriously fast. One great feature of this device is the support of 1080p recording and playing back. iPhone 5 has a 8mp rear camera capable of 1080p HD video recording just like that on iPhone 4s. And in the front, we have a 4 inch retina display having a resolution of 1136x640. On the top front, there is a 1.3 MP camera capable of 720p hd video recording. You can share a series of photos with friends and family to share and comment along with 1.3 MP front facing camera.
In terms of TV and Video playback, the iPhone 5 supports
- AirPlay Mirroring to Apple TV support at 720p;
- AirPlay video streaming to Apple TV (3rd generation) at up to 1080p and Apple TV (2nd generation) at up to 720p;
- H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
- MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
- Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
HD 1080p movies and TV shows purchased from iTunes store can be easily downloaded to iPhone 5 for playback. If you have videos that are saved on your computer hard drive, you may add them to iTunes library and then sync the HD contents to iPhone 5 via USB connection.
However, MKV, AVI, M2TS and other formats must be converted to .mp4 or .m4v format so that the iPhone 5 can play them naturally. The best video format supported by iPhone 5 is H.264 .mp4 video. You can get an iPhone Video Converter to do the conversion job.
