Aspect ratio

My 7plus has a 16:9 aspect ratio which seems normal to me - I like it. I have not checked back on previous models I have owned but they were all probably pretty close to this.

I am not sure I will like the 19.5:9 ratio on the X. I have a few friends with the Samsung Gal 8 or Note which have an 18.5:9 ratio and none of them like it - too elongated.

What do other potential buyers think of this ratio?

The images aren't distorted to fit.

I wasn't thinking of that. I just thought it would look weird. But now I guess the thousand or so images I have saved to my phone - will have the side chopped off to fit the long side or will be smaller than they are on the 7 plus?

Your photos should be displayed in the aspect ratio they were shot in or edited to. This can mean that the displayed photo will not use the entire screen and have black bands at the sides or the top and bottom.

Got it. It makes sense - I was worried about nothing even though I still do not like the elongated screen.
