AT&T announce 4g service

Will this apply to my iPhone 4? Or does this require new hardware (a phone designed for 4g)?

Atleast their getting the service up and running. But, it's going to be awhile before it's widespread enough for me to make a big deal about it. Even sprint and verizon's 4g is only in the city in my area.

As the others wrote, it's going to be a while before this new service is nationwide. By that time, you will have gotten a new phone with the hardware to pick up the 4G service.
