Backing up gives me old apps

When I connect to my Mac it gives me back all the old apps I deleted as an update. How do I stop that?

Maybe you didn't pick the 'move to bin' option in itunes when you deleted ?

You have to go into the Apps tab of iTunes and uncheck both Sync Apps and Automatically Sync New Apps.

Basically you have iTunes in full auto mode, so it tries to make sure your iOS device is 100% up to date.
