Following this weekends reports by two respectable publications The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal according to which Apple is apparently working on a smartwatch or iWatch, a new story has surfaced this time via Bloomberg.
The weekend articles revealed only small details about the upcoming technology it will probably feature the highly advanced curved glass display and will run the iOS.
The Bloomberg report is based on the statement of two Apple inside sources who claim the Cupertino giant is indeed working on an intelligent wrist watch and a huge team is working on the pet-project. According to the information provided by the unnamed insiders, Apple has a team of 100 product designers attending to the matter. The team was assembled last year and since then has grown by adding managers, members of marketing groups, hardware and software engineers that have previous experience in the iPhone/iPad field.
The sources also claim that judging by the teams size, Apple is no longer in the experimental phase of the project, but has advanced to more serious issues. They even go as far as to name two people involved in the development of the iWatch senior director of engineering James Foster and manager Achim Pantfoerder. We cant help but wonder if the report is legit since usually reports coming from unnamed sources arent that specific.
The story goes on to note that Apple has been trying to assemble a device that might be used for tracking fitness levels in the past, but somehow not one of these experiments surfaced. Maybe this time around, well going to get lucky.
