Brand new phone won't text!

I bought a brand new iphone 4s today at best buy. The guy set it up and activated it for me, and I was on my way. Later, I got home and tried to send a text with my new phone, and it will not go through. I've tried texting a few different people and none of them are going through, my fiance said he tried texting me and I haven't received any of them either. Any ideas what could be going on or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Hi Kerrie.... try something first before doing anything else. Perform a "Hard Reset" of your iPhone. Hold the Home and Sleep buttons together for about 10 seconds. Your screen will go black and the Apple logo will appear. When the Apple logo comes up release both buttons. Your iPhone will reboot back to the lock screen... then attempt to send and/or receive texts.

I tried doing what you suggested, it rebooted and everything, but it still won't send texts. I'll go back to best buy tomorrow and ask them to look at it. Thanks though!

The only other "end user" suggestion I would have would be to remove your SIM card... Hard Reset... then reinstall your SIM card. Other than that, as you stated, taking it to the place of purchase or contacting your wireless provider would be the next step.

Go in to settings and restore carrier settings
