BT Openzone help

Bit of random one for you folks but I'm having problems with my phone automatically connecting to BT Openzone. Basicaly it's utter garbage! It's unbelievably slow. The display shows that I'm connected to it's WiFi but it makes browsing even slower than WAP, most of the time I switch the WiFi off so that it wont connect as this is quicker for browsing! Has anyone else experienced anything like this and does anyone know if there's a way to block BT Openzone connections? PS, I know I can just leave WiFi off but that's not the point! well you can select int he wifi settings for it to not connect automatically to networks, you probably connected once and since then it just connects automatically when your in the wifi spot.
