Caller ID “caller I’d unknown” on outgoing calls/FaceTime unable to verify mobile number

Can anyone help me with the following issue.
Caller ID “caller I’d unknown” on outgoing calls/FaceTime unable to verify mobile number:-
I’ve ensured that caller I’d is “on”
Thought it might be a iMessage issue as was unable to send iMessage. So checked mobile number etc but the “whirling wheel “ is just spinning & “verifying” displayed.

Not sure I understand you correctly. Are you saying when you make a Facetime call the display can not identify who you are calling? Because I thought it was to identify who is calling you. But if you mean the former, are they in your contact list?
OTOH, if the number won’t even allow you to send a message, there could be a problem either with the number/configuration or your iPhone Settings.
