Camera has no sound

I only got my iphone 4 last week and updated to ios5.1 right away. It appears to me that my camera records no sound ( only static ). I am not covering anytjing and my volume is at maximum level. Downloading other apps did not help. I restored the iphone and rebooted but no results. The voice recorder appears to work fine.
Has anyone experienced the same?
It's driving me mad!!

Sounds like a part of your board went out during the upgrade to 5.1. You might want to call Apple on this and see if there's anything they are willing to do to keep you as an Apple customer.
