Well to edit your hosts files, you first need to right click on HOSTS to properties and uncheck read only. Then open with notepad and search for "gs.apple.com". I deleted 2 files, click save and change file type to all files. That will save it. Took me alot of trying to do that.
So i rebooted and opened iTunes and set my iphone into dfu mode and clicked restore with my saved 5.1 file. Still comes up error 3194. So right now I'm downloading the big file directly through itunes and its going to be a while, almost an hour. I'll get back to you.
