Cases without a back panel

Wondering what everyones opinion is on cases that are open to the back. (Bumper style). Ive looked at the Apple branded ones and they are so boring and plain.

I've modded the back panel of my phone to have a clear backing plate so I really want to have a case that shows this.

I've looked into the Element Vapor but everything I seem to read is about the case killing signal reception

In the case of the iPhone 4 it has a glass back and the bumper does nothing to protect it. Trust me I've already broke mine.

Slickwraps have just brought out a clear bumper that looks very nice,comes in black and white.

Fair enough. I'm pretty sure this back plate I've installed is made of lexan (or a similar material), so I'm not too concerned about breaking the glass
